           Unit3 What are you doing for vacation?

                  Section A (period 2)

(一)教学目标

      1.知识目标

      1).Learn the new words and useful expressions

      2).Master the new sentence patterns

      3).Talk about future plans using “be +verbing…”

      4).Talk about dream vacations

      2.能力目标

      1).Reading and listening skills

      2).Be able to express future plans using “be + verbing”

      3).Be able to write about the vacation plans

      3.情感目标

       教育学生假期参加丰富多彩的有益社会活动,使自己全面健康地发展。

(二)教学重点

      1.Learn the new words and useful expressions

      2.Talk about the vacation plans ( 3a, 3b )

(三) 教学难点

1.Listen to a conversation and fill in the chart (3a)

2.Talk about the dream vacation  (  4  )

(四)教学思路

先复习上一节课内容 Ask the students “What are you doing on this weekend?” “What is she/he doing?” “When are you /is she/he going?” “Where are you/is she/he going?”.Then teacher say “Two students are talking about vacation plans.Now, let’s listen to their conversation.”然后,导入新课,进入到新授3a 进行听力训练。

(五)教学方法和手段

      1.小组讨论法,学生表演演示法。

      2.录音机,实物(课本),教学卡片等。

(六)Teaching steps (教学过程)

      Step One Revision

      1.Check the new words and expressions learnt in last lesson.

      2.Review the structures “What are you/is she/he doing on weekend?” “When are you/is she/he going?” “Where are you/is she/he going?”“How long are you/is she/he stay?”

      3.Get students to ask and answer in pairs.

      Step Two Presentation

      Teacher say, “Two students are talking about vacation plans. Let’s listen to their conversation.”

     Step Three listening

     Get the students to listen to the tape three times and fill in the chart below

 

Where are they going?

What are they doing there?

 

 

 

 

 

Step Four Practice

1.Books open. Let the students read the conversation after the tape.

2.Let the students read the conversation together.

3.Ask the students act out the conversation in pairs.

Step Five Consolidation

Get students to find out the target language from the dialogue.

 e.g.1.I’m visiting my friend in Hong Kong.

2.I’m going hiking in the mountains

3.How long are you staying ?

4.Just for four days.

5.Show me your photos when we get back to school.

Step Six Practice (pair work)

Practic the conversation from activity 3a.Then use the informtionin 3b to make new conversations.

A:What is Dave doing for vacation?

B:He’s going to his uncle’s house.

A:How long is he staying?

B:He’s staying for a week.

A:What is he doing there?

B:He’s playing chess with his uncle.

Step Seven Summary

Go though the contents on the blackboard and get students to sum up what they learned in this period.

Step Eight Homework

1. Learn the new words and the target language by heart.

2.Do some exercises for consolidation.

3.Preview Section B (1a1b) and the new words in Section B.

4.Translation

1).下周跟我去游泳怎么样?好主意。

2)。我不喜欢外出很长时间。

3)。我忘记带英语书了。

4)。他要在那儿呆多久? 一个星期。
