一、教材分析
本课是《新目标英语》七年级下册 Unit 10 的第四课时，本单元进一步学习过去时态的用法，以Holidays and vacations 为话题，通过单元教学使学生学会从places, activities, weather, food, feelings等方面谈论stayed at home, went to the mountains等假日活动。本课是该单元的第四课时，是一节阅读课，同时，也是一节语言实践拓展课。
本课要求学生阅读3a 的三篇旅游日记并学习“good or bad things about vacation”等描述假日生活的句子，为写作提供范例。3b要求学生根据文字及图片提示写一篇旅游日记。4要求学生以小组活动形式根据图片或旅游日记组织对话练习。
二、教学目标

1.学习 what和 where过去式疑问句及其回答。

教学方法：本次教学活动采用情景法、交际法及任务型教学途径进行教学。
学习策略：使单元主题联系学生实际，让学生通过听、说、读和写的训练学会谈论周末、假日所从事的活动及郊游活动。

录音机、实物投影仪、 图片和照片若干。
六、 教学过程
I.Pre-reading
Revision and leading-in.
展示若干张学校郊游活动中学生的照片，谈论学校郊游活动，复习旧课并且导入日记的学习。
T:Do you remember our school trip?

What did you do there?
T: Photos can help us remember our school trip. What about diaries ? Do you often write diaries?I think diaries can also help us remember our school trip .Today let’s read Bob’s travel diaries.
设计意图:通过图片创设情景和提问，使学生回忆曾经历过的郊游活动，激发他们的学习兴趣。
