 阅读中主要讲述作者居住的小镇发生了些奇怪的事情,即每晚会听见来自窗外的奇怪的事情,许多人对这一个怪事进行了各种猜测。

 

二、教学目标

1. To master how to use modal verbs to express suspense deeply.

2. To be able to get main ideas by reading quickly   .

3. To be able to get details by reading carefully .

4. To be able to write your own possible reasons to explain the noises.

三、学习者特征分析

In the last lesson, we have finished Grammar Focus

So the students know that  these modal verbs can be used to express suspense.

 师生通过游戏口头英语互动

 通过阅读回答问题

 通过写出自己的观点,让学生进一步掌握情态动词表推测的用法

让学生写出其他可能导致噪音的原因

Let students guess “ what is in my hand”

 Use “it might / could / must /can’t be a …”

Understand when and how to use these modal verbs

 

 

Present the picture n 3a

And ask “Can you guess what happened to the woman” why is she worried

Ask students to read the passage and finish 3b and 3c

To improve reading abilities

Ask students to write down possible reasons on paper , see who can write most reasons and score for the group

七、教学评价设计

学生在开头的游戏中表现很棒,踊跃说出自己的答案,就连平时很少发言的学生此刻也在积极思考。

在由一个同学猜中了是一个橘子后,我把这个小橘子奖给他的时候,大家都非常开心的落下了心中的石头,并且鼓掌奖励得奖的孩子。课堂从此快乐起来!

本节课的另一个高潮点就是在课堂最后的写肯能原因的句子,为了得到更多分,每个小组的成员都在思考讨论并推选一个成员,把已经写下的句子念出来。(每个学生都在开心的为本组出力)
